Woodlawn church of Christ Youth Summer Mission Trip

Relationships that will last for eternity …

The Woodlawn church of Christ youth group and the Inner City church of Christ youth group did a great job this last week and had such wonderful attitudes! A bond in Christ was formed that will last throughout eternity.; a bond that was formed through service, faith, and fellowship! With this being the fifth or sixth trip to serve in the inner city of Mobile, Alabama, veteran campaigner and an elder serving with the Woodlawn congregation, Keith Rose reminisced on campaigns past, and those he had met, and those who were still in the Lord’s body. We also reflected the impact this mission field had on his own children, and other youth that came years ago. Eddie Matthews, who serves as the youth minister for the Woodlawn congregation, as well as working as a school teacher and coach, brought his youth group for his second year. Our kids in the Mobile Inner City church of Christ just loved this brother and those of his group that came with him. Fond memories were made; Eddie was a great team leader, full of zeal in watching youth grow in the Lord! Both youth groups enjoyed serving together …

  1. Work projects
  2. Door knocking, following up on contacts, setting up studies, reading memory verses, and praying with people
  3. Teaching children from the RV Taylor community, ages 3-9, during evening time Bible Challenge

Both groups enjoyed sharing in devotionals, fun activities, and in training sessions … yes, they bonded; they developed friendships. Two cultures, one Lord, one faith, one cause …
